I actually wanted to use the DMR tension seeker2. But it wasn't able to provide an appropriate chain tension after the first few pedal ups I made because the linear spring had bent itself.
that kinda sucked because I modified the tension seeker with a custom aluminium axle and ti screws.

so I decided to use an old derailleur. all the unnecessary material on the cages an the parallelogram has been cut off. the tensioner is now held in place by an adjusting screw.

I've also taken some pics of my bike.

it's nokon housing. the stiffest housing available. Very smooth. Somewhat expensive. Highly recommended (by me) for rear brakes anyway, the front brake cable isn't really long enough to tell the difference.

Why did you want higher chain tension? Are there any advantages?
i have no tension on my chain and it never, really never skips or drops of the track cog.

I am thinking of switiching from a derraileur + 8 speeds to a chain tensioner single speed. Did you have a derrailleur before? Was it a major difference in weight and perfomance?

Nice headset dude

higher tension gives your pedal strokes a more responsive feeel

WTF is going on with your stem? two mounting positions?

the DMR tensioner produced no chain tension at all after the spring was bent. so I wasn't looking for higher tension; just for any.
I like a well tensioned chain because it can't jiggle around and make annoying noises. the power transfer to the rear wheel is faster, too.

yes, I had a derailleur before.
the lower weight is just a difference on the scale. but I don't notice something while riding.
the performance is definitely better - it's silent now. the derailleur used to hit the chainstay.

this stem owns. it is a Syntace VRO (http://www.syntace.com/index.cfm?pid=3&pk=427)

Hi there, do you have any better pics of the derailleur you have on pic #2?

It looks deadly nice, I want to drill and make my own 105 derailleur look like that : )

If you have, add me to msn: sondre_skj0lsvik@hotmail.com

Cheers : )
