A pretty quick vid of a few sessions

http://www.eengoedidee.nl/parsefiles/?type=bike-trials&filename=more_hifi.wmv

There's plenty of green, but no rocks or natural to be seen. Only concrete and metal but I never go to chainring or pedal.

How about that. i'm such an artist.

nice vid man, florida must really suck ass! nothing to ride on and no one to ride with....? If you had some decent stuff to ride on and someone at similar skill level to ride with, you would progress a lot quicker!

Hehe looks like that electrical box has been hooked a few hundred times ;)
Still woop my ass man, just sad to see such an inspirational rider in a place where theres not much to ride and no one to ride with :(

Good to see your making the most of it all!

Peace

The truth of the Florida seen is that there are some rocks and stuff to ride at the beach and I am sure other spots too. I just have very little time to ride, especially after doing 10 shows a week.

I was really spoiled in NJ. Having some of the best riders in the country and so many riding spots at my daily disposal really has ruined me for having to travel and plan to ride. We used to get pissed because we were bored with our 10 riding spots that were all within a half hour of one another in NJ. I guess this is payback for the bad attitude.

I will make it to the jetty one of these days craig, I promise.:x:

Thanks for the support!

Man, that is some big riding!:run:

Good to see you are still riding Lance. I remember when I was about 16 and thinking you were the man. That was 9 or so years ago!! Not much has changed.:hs:

I'm down in Ft. Myers right now visiting family. I wasn't allowed to bring my bike though

Yeah, not too much riding down here that I've seen so far. I'm going to do some exploring later with my trials vision switched on, for the next time I'm down here.

Nice riding! What part of Florida do you live in? My wife and I were considering moving to Florida, but one of my biggest reasons not to go was the lack of a trials scene. I would think the beach areas down there would be pretty good for riding.

It great to see someone who inspired me in the early days still riding and teaching me a thing or two. You make those hooks look so effortless.

The mountain bike trail riding is actually pretty fun down here. there is basically no climbing whatsoever, but it is really fast. It's like a mix of xc and bmx.

As for trials, you would have to get pretty lucky to find something good. Other than out on the beaches in the direct sun, the natural is really limited.

I went to a moto trials comp that had some rideable rocks, but it was on private property and the motorcycle club had to get special permission to ride there once a year. That didn't work out.

i know there is stuff out there, it is just a matter of taking the time to look and getting a little lucky. Instead i just fly back to NJ on my breaks from the show and hit up the old spots. it sounds crazy, but it is worth it to me at this point.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. the HIFI is definitely good for hooks, that I am sure of. bunnyhops too. But I still want to learn the newer techniques. Sticking with what you know gets boring.

ride on,

There are a bunch of different jetties with rocks ranging from small and tech to flat out insane lines. You can ride all day on one of the jetties and find endless lines. Florida is definitely not the best place to ride trials but the scene we do have is pretty tight knit across the state with a few groups of riders spread around. It's never too cold to ride and usually not too hot to manage. Skies are usually blue and sunny and occasionally hurricanes keep things interesting. Urban is decent in the larger cities for when you can't make it to the beach. Miami and Fort Lauderdale have it the best being right on the beach and having good urban but Orlando holds it's own.

I'm down in Ft. Myers right now visiting family. I wasn't allowed to bring my bike though
Firewrx.. let me know next time you plan on coming down. I know good rider that lives in Ft. Myers who can probably show you anything there and we can get a group ride together.

Lance is here in Orlando with myself and a few other riders. Your best bets for trials scene living here would be Orlando, Miami/Ft Lauderdale, West Palm. Not much on the Gulf side from what I know. Keith Courage lives over on that side of the state but I haven't gotten the chance to catch up with him yet.

Hopefully some footage of Lance on the Jetties will surface some day soon if I can get him out there with us....
*Cough*

Good to see more footage Lance.. thanks for putting it up.

I like riding florida....hey you can ride the Jetties or chill and look at T&A, or do both at the same time.

You know, theres probably about 6 different jetties I could hit up that are about 20 minutes of city driving in any westerly direction.

Problem is, besides being somewhat new to trials, my tech skills blow beyond human comprehension. Plus I'm waaayyyy tooo lazy to drive out there when I have dece urban in my backyard, which happens to be downtown st. petersburg.

As far as other riders go, I'm the only one in Pinellas County that I know of. The only other person I've ridden with is my buddy Rob. Coincidentally, the only rider in Hillsborough county that I know of.

Anyone that lives in FL wants to ride with a weiner like me, DO NOT hesitate! I'm so eager to ride with more people. PM me or something.

Lance, sorry to threadjack like that. Thats some solid footage. I enjoy watching your stuff quite a bit.
my Girlfriend used trials against me in order to persuade me to take her to Cirque du soleil (sp?). I wouldn't mind seeing the thing, just costs too much dorrah.

The music is actually some older NIN I had on the computer for some reason and it just happened to match the time frame for the clips. i do like it though.

i definitely need to catch up with you guys for a ride in O-town. Somebody pm me or I will do the same sometime in the next couple of weeks. Anybody have any time tommorrow?

And the hooks seem to go pretty well for me. Running into things is my specialty.
