getting chain tension right on mod?

so I went out and bought a used Megamo mod to get back into trials after about a three year hiatus from riding

got it all together but I can't seem to get the chain tension set. I'll set it where I want it, tighten the hub bolts to the point where I'm afraid they're going to strip, it all seems ok. Then after a couple minutes of riding the chain is slapping on the chainstay on the smallest bump. Reset the rear wheel and same thing

now I know some people use chain tensioners on mods but from what I remember you can get away without them, as I assume the person that I bought it off did. Any tips?

I use a normal snail tensioner. I love them. So simple, and so cheap.

have have snails...and they suck...im just going to be cheap tho and not fix it and live with having to adjust it right now

scratch the above post, played around with it today and the bike does have the aforementioned snail tensioners
