a friend got a early version of the kenny pro model (the current one is a bit different) to test it.
He only got crap phone video pics right now, ill post good quality one later.
He will do a detailed review on the frame which im gonna post here too.
Aperantly the carbon tube can take quite a beating acording to him.
The frame doenst feel stiffer or anything. You can hear the carbon tube-farme connection area craking when doing hooks, which is kind of shitty for a frame of that price. Maybe they the final version will get rid of it.
Also the downtube is even thinner then the XTP one. They used a new technology to make it strong though. Inside the tube there is a thicker areak on the bottom with a X pattern which is supposed to make it stronger. Who knows.
so pics, video and review will follow soon

Haha, look at some "real" mtb and road bikes... thay often have carbon/alu frames.
Cool frame, but why a carbon top tube? Looks nice though; matches the UCI championship jersey nicely .

it is just stuck in there, over the end of the carbon they glued a thin plastic/rubber thingy(probably to prevent any play/creaking) but it still creaks when you do hooks according to my friend.
maybe the rubber thing is only on one side?
Also, when the koxx guy gave him the frame he told him to take care of the seat tube middle area. Its so thin in the middle area, you can dent it with your hand (only middle part) if you press hard enough. Basically, the seat tube is just there tu stiff up the BB.

oh i forgot
The chainstay lenght is made so that you can run ith without any tensionier, since the new UCI rule does not demand 6working gears/derailleur anymore . You dont even need a half link (with kennys gear/setup). Pretty good idea...if you use a different gear than kenny then it doenst work obviously

What gearing does Kenny run? 18x ?

When did that ss gear rule come out??
Its not in the UCI rules on their site. Oh well...
Awesome looking bike, the creaking does not sound good though. Might have a talk to some of the composite guys at work. They should be able to tell me what is happening there.;)

Yeah, I heard it from a mate. He read it in MBUK (don't ask me why he was reading that mag).
I was wondering why Kenny, Vince and co were running ss!

I hope other frame producers start making horizontal dropout + Paul style tensioner screws.
If Koxx makes one, it'll cost like $2000 a frame. Just because.

there will be new UCI rules in 2007. The whole singlespeed rule is not official yet, so until then it's unofficially allowed to run ss in comps...
one more pic of the carbon frame.. crappy quality, sorry for that...

Its a nice frame but I wouldn't pay a premium for it

its a genius idea for a carbon top tube... any engineer would know carbon fiber is stronger with compression verses tension... so if you were to place carbon fiber somewhere, it would make sense to have it on the top tube because it's mostly undergoes compression.

Thats prob what you'll get from Koxx if you purchased a real kb sig... a f#ckin xtp with carbon stickers....and pay an extra $1000.00 for it too...........cryo...you should market those stickers it really does look sharp!!!!!!!

yo its the xtp from a friend. he just powder coated the xtp and put carbon stickers on it. look really cool.
hahaha i was wondering all the time if people bought all the crap i said like "downtube lighter then the xtp with special x-pattern inside the tube" and "seat tube you can dent with your hand"

that kinda reminds me of my friends monty mod that he had, it had a carbon sticker on part of the top tube, it looked real.

  That's brilliant.. actually a bit freaky.. Chris, it's like we both think exactly alike, wow...... I thought I was gonna be the first to do that ;) grrr
The pc is a little hefty yeah, I won't be doing it again. It's durable as hell, and in most cases cheaper than spraying, but I'll be sticking to krylon for my next one.

years ago i made a frame out of 5.5mm carbon spars (for kites) it was about 8cm long, i took close up photo's of it and put it up on BT.com and people beleived it! hehe nice work.
