Yeah, the new Echo single speed fixed hub (http://www.echobike.com/images/partspics/hub/fixedrear26/ECHO-HUB-FIXED-26-BLUE.jpg).... Went to crap after 4 good rides. Their idea of machining a hub from 6061 aluminum wasn't soo good. The metal was soo soft, the threads for the track cog stripped right out. Again, after 4 rides. :weak:

Just a heads up incase there are others out there on this hub. Something to watch out for.

Were you using an echo cog or just a regular track cog? I've done the same thing many a time, because i was using a track cog, which is narrow, which in turn means there's less threading holding everything together. Once i started using a trials cog with a wide footing, i stopped stripping hub threads.

I was using the new stainless steel Echo cog. Wide base and it fit with no play.

I see.... I just wanted to make sure it wasn't user error. I've seen plenty of people bad mouth companies and products when the whole time it was their own damn fault. You're right, the hub is probably just a POS. What hub are you gonna try next?

I've been around the block a few times over the years, and I've seen a lot of bad parts. This one is def. defective in craftmanship. Nice hub, just too soft. I'm not saying their other hubs aren't good, just check the threads if you have one.

I'm now using the new Echo 6 speed fixed hub. Muuuch better design in that hub. More threads holding everything together. Fingers crossed it holds up better too.

Um, no. WI FFW works best for me. The new hub is waaay better than the other Echo one anyways.
