Does anyone know of a good hub for trials that isn't to expensive? I know that the Chris king Hub is totally cool, but, I need money for the rest of my bike too... do note that this hub is for big foot, at over 6 ft tall, and a clysdale (200+)...

try searching.......... topic has been raped x1000

damn it........ any fixed hub with a white Industries FW. would be your best bang for the buck....... or the new hope trials hub http://www.trialsin.com/sell/pieces/pframe.htm

if you have a mod, I would try the Profile Cassette BMX hub.. Probably half the cost of a KING and pretty trick

consider a dmr or surly singlespeed hub with a bmx freewheel (either acs or white industries). It's usually the cheapest way to get a dece trialsin drivetrain. Use it with some sort of tensioner (like a locked out derailleur, or make your own rennen/fresh copy). Else, try hope. Pro 2 > XC or Mono.

search around for examples and products. There is tonnes of info on this board on THIS TOPIC.

don't use an ACS freewheel, or a shimano freewheel, or a shimano hub. I've said it before:

Chris King
Hope Trials
WI Eno

Anything else will end up costing you more money, bike downtime and potentially injury as it will blow up catastrophically, especially as you are a clydesdale.

ACS freewheel mounted on the hub is fine.

joel, why don't you like those ACS freewheels? as long as their locking plate is kept tight they're very good. i've broken one in three years, and it was my own fault. my second one is going strong, and once it bedded in it hasn't skipped.

maybe they're not for ultra-heavy riders but you shouldn't put them in the same sentence as a shimano.

Speaking of rear freewheel, does anyone know of a reliable track hub other than surly? I've had to replace the bearings on my surly three times in the past 2 months. It might just be that it's three years old, but I'm open to changing.

PS My 18t ACS came with this hub and hasn't skipped once in three years.

white industries - the non-eccentric ENO hub. The most versatile SS hub ever.

joel, why don't you like those ACS freewheels?

BANG! Fucking blow up. Last a while, yes, but never even near to a year for me.
