I am thinking of getting an echo hub with http://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?catalogId=9999999&id=1554 this freewheel. Would this be able to stand up for a while? I had a king, (not white, been looking at hubs all morning) that I was paying on, but the person disappeared with my money(gotta love the inferweb).

It won't hold up. I used a normal 16t WI on the back of my bike for a while, and totally ripped it apart. The outer ring with the teeth on it is now in three pieces. It WILL break. WI trials FW is the only one suited for it from WI.

Dang, that's too bad. I like the idea of a two speed freewheel!!! Super good idea!

I have a question about that, What makes the other WI freewheels weaker? Isnt the driveshell piece the same design(save for different sizes) in all their freewheels, and the difference in the number of pauls? Please explain.:dunno:

because of Luke's spelling? That would put me off anything as well...

The trials freewheel probably doesn't have the same outer, as it has more engagement points (= notches on the inside of the drive ring)

Yes, my point exactly, more notches, I know, but is it strengthened more than the others?

I don't know. White industries might know. He makes them after all. www.whiteind.com - they're very quick and good with questions.

this is why i padlock my shed...even though the shed is so small and not bolted down at the moment so therefore you can actually lift the shed up :P

even with the padlocks i still keep my bike in my car :D i have illegally dark windows which are extremely hard to see into during the day let alone at night which is the only time the car is out so therefore my bike is safer in my car :P well sometimes i leave my bike in the laundry as well

got nothing against that post. It's quite understandable actually. I have what is perhaps an old-fashioned problem with those who can write or spell correctly but don't have enough respect for their audience to bother taking care with spelling and grammar.

My condolences over your shed problem. Post some details of what was stolen in another thread and people will keep an eye out.

The trials freewheel is hardened. All I know is that when I called WI about it, they said "were you using this for trials? because I've seen this happen before..." They explained that the trials fw was hardened, and would take the torque of trials riding, unlike their standard ones. The trials fw also has 6 pawls instead of 4.

ok, ok, I didnt know it was hardened, thats cool. I knew about the 6 pawls tho.
