I rode one for about 6 years, I thought it was fine especially for 25 bucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong here , but "ahead" is a system / concept , not a brand name / manufacturer . Any threadless headset that allows the stem to clamp directly onto the fork's steerer tube is called A head .

This applies to no name Taiwanese crap right through to the majesty of Mr.Christopher King . For what it's worth , my cheapo FSA orbit set's been running sweetly for years now . :run:

I rode a a-head set on my ss for a while, and didn't have any problema with it. As far as brand names go I'm not sure who owns/makes them, but my parts worked out well for the money.

I think that Aheadset was the first term coined to the first headset of its kind. If I am correct, cane creek or a division of said company started to make these first, or something like that.

Anyways, now this term is thrown around, and people use it to describe what really is a "threadless headset". That is the real name.

As for the cane creek headsets, well some are good and some are poo. Just get a FSA pig.

This one if your frame is designed for it:

This one if not:

And if you got some money they have even better ones for like $80. But these work very well, almost too well.

So its not really a brand? This aheadset thing comes on almost all stock konas, at least the mid end and low end ones.
