...which is longer than i've heard from others! LHS bearing goooone!
the actual ball bearings were rolling around in the bb shell on the frame, i had to scrape them out along with bits of metal from the bearing seal
It was still a pretty good one though, for the price anyway. Sorry for crap lighting

They only have the 600 series ones, which are great, 100% stainless but the also wholesale for $160. But then again, they come with a 10year warranty. only weighed about 240g from memory

Better than mine! Mine lasted 3 months. non-drive bearing died also, wtf? I would have thought drive side would take more impact(i ride right foot forward) but obviously not!? Now have a Token 4-bearing which sounds fucked sometimes but i'm running it till it no longer works!
Im just about to buy an echo BB. Its pretty cheap, but I dont know whether it will be worth it. :hs:
I guess I can only try.

The echo BB Macbeth had, had a few issuse. The spindle spacers were a little too wide and needed to be filed down to fit so that they didn't squash the bearings when you tightened the cranks on. Then after taking it in and out of of a few frames the drive side cup split, just where the tool (FSA style) fits in and the outer thread starts split through.
But then again 128mm BB are a pain in the butt to find :(

QBP is quality bike products or parts or something. A big US distributor. A moot point for (most...hee hee) Australian shops.
You can get FSA, SKF, Truvativ and Raceface BBs in Australia though, the only 128s worth looking at. Ash's 128mm FSA is going really well (that is to say, he hasn't had to think about it since putting it into his bt 6.0 almost 12 months ago and then laying into it with his 90kg self), and the Racefaces have a good rep.

The SKF ones are good, but do have a couple of draw backs:
1) They use the Truvative tool interface (something I never saw as a negative until I actually used one)
2) The shoulder that is on either side of the spindle obstructs you from using the tool to completely tighten the shell on. I had to use a ring spanner to finish them off and because it's only interfacing with one slot at a time I stripped that slot out :( (I tried 3 different truvative tools but none of them had a large enough bore through them to clear the shoulder)
Other than those 2 complaints I don't think I'm going to have to take it out of this frame until I break it (frame that is).

My brother had the same issues with his skf but besides that it is great... so far. he is thinking about modifying a tool to suit I believe.

Hadn't thought of that, good idea :) I just hope there is a enough metal in the tool to be reamed out that wide. I know a guy who could do it for me too (if I can't find a lathe to do it on myself)
They really are a smooth BB :) Has your bro got the 600 series as well?
