Near my house there's a baseball field with bleachers built into a hill. The bleachers are built on concrete steps that rise about 8" and run about 24", nice and shallow. There's a series of six steps, I was trying to go down them. I've been doing them one at a time, but this time tried to do it in two pedal kicks. There's a small up to start (about 12"), I got up on that, kicked once, but went a little to far and landed on the corner of the 3rd step. I didn't grab enough brake, bike looped out, I got whipped backwards onto the stairs, landing on both elbows on the corner of one step and my tail bone on the next step down.

At first I didn't think much of the elbows, just thought I had an abrasion. But my tail bone was killing me, I did the pain dance, laid down on a park bench for a while and continued riding. Did a couple of roll ups on this rock near by, and I noticed a lot of blood on the rock, on my bike and on my shin guards. My elbows were busted open. I decided to call it quits and go home.

I cleaned myself off, ate dinner went to bed. At this point it started getting more and more painful, never did sleep. At one point I couldn't even lay down anymore, all I could do was sit up with my arms crossed in front of my chest (couldn't bend my elbows with out a lot of pain). I ended up going to the ER at about 3:30am.

After all that, they're not even broken. I don't know why it was so painful, I've broken bones before and this was worse. They gave me some Oxycodone and I've been sleeping well every since :naughty:

a little bit crooked but otherwise ok. the scabs are gone and the scars are tiny and will probably go away. Funniest trials injury of mine to date!
