Just got something else in the mail today. Yeah!!! (Rennen Chain tensioner)
I'm only waiting on a rear hub, and I'll be set for a while.

Yeah...that post will be coming soon. I will be selling all the parts that I am taking off my bike. I just want to make sure everything works well and get everything into place first. I'll have a rear hub, Echo cranks and bash, and everything else that comes off a bike when you switch over to single speed.
I just got my bike this past December so all the parts that are coming off will be in awesome shape.

A chain will be coming soon. but for now I need to slow it down with spending money.
I just got all this stuff, plus I bought another Yakima King Cobra bike roof attachment so I have a way to carry the Monty mod that I just bought for my son. My wife has no idea, but I'm sure I'll get an ear full!

Yeah, I feel like I am cheating on my wife with the way I've been looking at those cranks. heh heh
I'm a little upset at the moment cause I paid this guy for a Monty mod for my son and then he refunds my money and sends me a note that says "something came up and I can't sell it to you now."
So now I have to explain to my son now why he is not getting a bike now. UUhhhggg. I guess I'll have to keep my eye out on Ebay.

Yeah, the whole hooker and crack thing might actually help! Thanks! heh heh (At this point I'll try anything)
I got the crank set up at Chain reaction Cycles in the UK. www.chainreactioncycles.com (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com)
It was the only place that I could find that had the ones I wanted. I was a little nervous about ordering rom the UK, but I didnt get charged extra at all (customs charges or whatever) and in addition to that they did not charge me the VAT tax either. I got it in the mail super quick too!
Oh yeah... the Echo fixed hubs were $108

Nice parts. Post a photo of the completed bike when you're done.
I'm in a similar situation as you...I am changing my bike to single speed, and my 10 year old son likes to ride, also. I've got a stock and a mod. He rides both (basically whichever one I'm not on!). Even the mod is still too big for him, though.
How old is your son? Hopefully you can find him a bike soon, with nice weather coming!

Yeah, no problem.
My oldest son is 11 and looks like he is about 16. He's huge! He wears a size 11 mens sneaker! That's my size and I'm 6'1. He is constantly being hit on by teenage girls! (I'm gonna have my hands full!)
I also have another son. He's 6. He actually wants to race BMX this summer. He raced a little last summer for a little while and seemed to like it. I'm trying to steer him in the direction of trials though. (heh heh) He does like watching all the videos of all the nut jobs on here though. :bigthumb:

you can drag a horse to water...
I dont know I think pressuring your son to ride trials will only make him dislike it.
wow, what a deep 999 post.

I have to be careful with that I know!!!
I thought I learned that already with my older son. He was doing really well when he raced BMX and winning all kinds of trophies. Stupid me got all into the sport and really pushed him and drove him to every race imaginable. I went out and bought a really nice bike for him and he then decided that he didnt want to do it anymore. I basically made it "not fun anymore."
So, yeah my youngest son is now using that brand new bike that my oldest son never used. My wife now handles all that stuff and lets them go "have fun." heh heh :slap:

Well, I finally got my parts on. I love the way this looks and I can't believe the weight difference. Sorry about the huge pics. I tried to get them smaller, but can't figure it out.
Quick question... Do Try ALL tires need to face a certain way? I just noticed that my front tire is faced the opposite way of my rear. Which tire is on right?

You gotta post some better pics of the tires. I can't tell from those.
Having the tread the opposite way might increase rolling resistance but possible give better grip in some situations. maybe more wear. Not sure though but I don't think its a big deal.

Ok, here is the direction of my tires. No sure if it matters, but I just figured I'd ask.

There is an arrow on the sidewall that indicates the rotation direction.
According to that you put on your front tire the wrong way. However it doesn't make a difference.

Yeah, I saw that but I wasnt sure cause with the TryAll tires it kinda looked like part of the design.
Thanks.
