I know this ohio is not technichally an east coast state, however....It borders several, so I'm posting this here, as well! Hope to see some of you out!

The First event of the 2006 season for the OMBC Ohio Trials series has been confirmed. I have more events for the series, as well as a point system in the pipelines. Stay tuned!

EVENT INFO: April 23, 2006

Location:Vulture's Knob Mountain Bike Race Course
Wooster, Ohio www.vulturesknob.com (http://www.vulturesknob.com/)

Schedule: APRIL 23, 2006 Registration 11 am
Trials 12 NOON
XC 1pm
Downhill After XC race completion.

Fees: $25 per rider. No NORBA, No Licensing, No BS.

What to expect: Beginner, sport, and expert classes will be ran for this event. If enough interest is shown, a pro class will be added.

Sections will be 50% man made and 50% natural. We will be using the NATS rules for this event, with the exception that for expert class only, UCI style "rubber only" rules will be in effect (bash or pedal counts as a dab).

Event will be held rain or shine, so come prepared for a good time!

Series info will be (eventually) posted on OMBC.net. until then, Questions, comments, or requests for more information may be posted here, or sent to ombctrialsdirector@gmail.com.

Thanks! and we'll see you there!

Date?

Wooster is seriously like 40 min from my grandmother. Sounds like a plan to me.

Oh and Edit: for the record, I would be interested in a Pro class

Roughly 90 miles due west of the border,
try maps.google.com for better directions

The course is at the end of the long dirt road that bisects the brown field in the satelite map (click hybrid in upper right corner).

I'll be there... Are there more planned for the season? It would be great to have one a month...

Crawl, walk, run. That's my mantra regarding putting on comps.

2 years ago, I did a beginner only event, went well
last year I did 1 full event, went (IMO) really well,
This year, I'm doing 2 or 3, and calling it a series.

It honestly all depends on turnout. I have other things in my bag right now that I'm not willing to talk about at this stage. It's just too early. I have feelers out all over the place, having meetings, getting access, insurance, sanctioning, sponsors, etc, are taking up tons of time.

I do have a 100% solid event in October, but I don't want to hijack my own thread talking about it. I'll post more when I have more, I promise!

In the mean time, thanks a ton for your interest and for keeping this thread/idea active! I can't wait to see you all down here to ride!
