Now you can fend off gay canadian moose!
Actually, I kind of want to do that to my old rotor just because it looks cool. Right on ;)
Have you hit your hub on stuff before? I cant imagine how you would do it.

I think it's a fantastic idea. I hit my old hub on the disk mount once, just a scratch, but now that I'm sidehopping much more, I think this is worth it. I was thinking of how to make one just the other day, and it's just brilliant to hack up an old rotor. Props for the idea, dude!

On the other hand, I've never even come close! I even rode dual disc for over a year......

You don't need to sidehop to hit it. Just ride pointy rocks that are not very big. I have a few scuffs on the hub from hitting rocks and I was not even :gasp: sidehoping.
i may just go along and do the same. but you must have alot of time to get that, right???

ok, i'm not too sure why some people can't see how you can hit a rear hub. not that it happens all the time... i've only done it once in 3 years of trials riding. anyways, i hope these pictures help-
please note: hub is lower than stays and dropout.

i can see it now "Ninja Star Products" - Save those hubs
spend 100 dollars on our product that took 30 bucks to make and 5 mins of hard third world country labour ! you could do it yourself for 20 dollars but why not be cool and buy ours:D
haha i make myself laugh..does that mean i have problems:gaybar:
Regardless, the thing looks schmick. Love teh shuriken.

initially i had it sharpened to to very fine points. it looked the baulz but i was very afraid of putting it one my bike. the rounded points are a nice happy medium.

I definately have hit my hub and screwed up the disc mounts pretty bad, but I was doing sidehop to pegless smith stalls.....i dont think a lot of people do that on trials bikes....
I think its a great idea. You can hit that coller on that hub aswell and porter messed his up and had to grind it off because you couldnt undo the bolt. Looks wicked and gives you something extra to save you from a messed up sidehop. Back pedal, chainstay/dropout and this new star.

But deng will try to make it out of super-soft aluminum that will break if you look at it wrong.

not to mention if it was somehow possible to land on your ISO mount... you're transferring even more force to it since that larger piece will act as a lever... it wont bend though i suspect since its quite a bit smaller than standard disc. i think that looks really cool but functionally it's pointless.

haha good job (DERFFFF JPG). One dissadvantage would be having to take the rotor off before you can clean yer king...unless u can get an allen key in there. I dunno, i have a iso king on the rear. Dont plan on ever making one of those tho, mainly cuz I dont plan on needing a disc.

in all honesty thats a pretty cool idea. the rear hub on my street/dj bike can no longer be used w/ disc brakes seeing as how i smashed all the bolt holes to hell doing grinds. :rant2:
haha oh man. one of the local riders in vic made pretty much the EXACT same thing 2 or so years ago. seemed to work well for him.
