Nothing too fancy. Its a Soul Session. Right now they are selling them for $165 for frame and fork so I thought what the hell.

Also a simple little clip from my first ride (10.8mb, 1:10, Creek clip). Unfortunately the whole ride was really terrible and I could barely stand on my feet let alone on the bike. I like to think it was getting used to the new bike, but I think it was just one of those days. At the end I got out the camera, but at that point I was getting a bit fatigued (aka: ticked off). I still haven't done anything big on it yet, but I hope to get some decent video this weekend.

Oh, and I don't have a video editor yet so sorry about the first and last 15 seconds.I still can't figure out why my sound cuts out. I tried re-compressing it with lots of different settings, but no success. Any ideas?

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Hopefully my next ride goes better.:(

Very nice bike. Where did you pick it up for $167? Your video was nothing to be ashamed about. What is the length of that bike.

1065 wb +10 bb 385cs <--I think those are the right numbers.
Ridesoul.com. They have about 2 dozen frames and forks on clearance from last year. I finally cracked my Nashbar steel frame (oh yes) so I thought I'd give them a shot. Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality on it. The welds at the headtube are as good if not better than on my KHS Team Softtail. My only complaint is that since it is flat black, there is no clearcoat over the downtube sticker.

Thanks for the comments. :)

Lets see some pics of the bash and other parts of the bike. WHat kind of bars are you running?

lol. I was hoping nobody would notice the bash. Yeah, its homemade and covers only one side. I had an old skool steel chainring that I cut, doubled up, and filed down the teeth. Surprisingly it does work.

The bar is actually some steel bar I bought off a friend for $5 after I cracked some cheap alloy ones. The bar and stem are the next things to go.

I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow.:)

nice bike!
How do you like the surly/FW combo? How's the chainline? Which freewheel are you using?
That tire combo is giving me mad deja vu. Panaracer front, Kujo rear eh? That's what I used to use:)

The bash hasn't taken any huge hits yet. Time will tell. The brakes are Arch rivals with sd-7 levers and jagwire housing. The rear brake is starting to develop a bit of play so I may have to put my sd3's on it soon.
I'm loving the rear wheel. My last was an xt hub and rhyno lite so this is a huge difference. I think it is actually lighter even with the acs claws.
I had to put on a bb with a 118mm spindle and the chainline is decent but not perfect.

I need a new front tire soon:hsugh:

I think I bought these pedals in 1997:momaru:
