Yeah, you definitely can ride like that there. If you ask these guys, they'll probably all agree that I'm a flowy/bmx style rider. You should come out sometime when we'll all be out there; it'll be fun to have a big group ride and to ride with someone moremy style. Tom whoops me on sidehops/wedges/taps, as you can see from some of the pics, he's got skills...but when it comes to pedaling on rocks and, gasp, kickers... :eek3danc:
Great pics though. Tom, have you been training secretly?

unreal. awesome pics, awesome riding, awesome rocks. the dark-to-light sky effect rules.
btw, do you have any higher resolution versions you're willing to put up? there's a lot of potential backgrounds.

whats a CPL ? Kind of looks like a poor gradient in some of them, but this isn't my computer and LCDs suck dick for showing colors.
I think your lens is ruining the shots- it looks like the rider is really short or something.

Thanks for all the compliments. I've been internet-less for today so sorry this is the first time I'm getting back to you.
btw, do you have any higher resolution versions you're willing to put up? there's a lot of potential backgrounds.
I would be willing. But a full res .tiff of each picture is 38MB, so I need someone to host them.

Circular Polarizer, I think someone answered this pretty well already. Also has a cool effect on B&W, the sky comes out very dark gray to black.
I think the poor gradient is due to the .jpg compression. The originals do not have it.
nice spot!
Is that the ocean? if so then i will always find those pictures strange because snow+ocean over here doesn't exist.....
Your using a polarised lense yeah?
yes and polarizing filter, yes

That's a high altitude contrail and the moon.
Hope you took that vertebrea home with you... thats a good/rare find ...hippies will pay top dollar for that!! Any problems/incounters there today?
abso-fucking-lutely. My dog hasn't stopped salivating since I brought it home.
No encounters, except for a couple that were watching Tom ride. They asked if he was a sponsored rider.
Very nice. What kind of lens? Looks very wide
here's the set-up:
Nikon D70
Nikon 12-24mm f/4
Nikon SB-800 flash hooked up with a TTL cord
Hoya Circular polarizer
First pic shot with a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 natural light
really like this one, although did you use a second flash, tom's face and center mass look really dark?
I don't have a second flash yet, but I do need one. Seems to be a common problem with trials, trying to light people faces is tough. It looks like for that shot I was holding the flash in my left hand but as far to the right side of my body as possible (not far enough). So the flash got blocked out by the stem and handlebars.

Thanks, and Hell no!
There's so much riding there, even for someone of my (very low) skill level.
Those wide shots showing the Tom amongst the rocks are only about a 1/3 of it, there's a good 2/3's more behind the camera.

Nikon 12-24mm f/4
Nikon SB-800 flash hooked up with a TTL cord
