Before I say anything all of you reading this should know that you will not learn anything new of even interesting in this post, its just me being sarcastic(if that is spelled wrong remember I'm french) and pointless. I think any reply should be equally sarcastic and remember that nothing posted on any forum should be taken as fact/true/important. cheers

I'm confused, I'm about to start my 9th season in this great sport and yet I dont know where to throw myself(maybe of a ledge). Last year I was pretty bored with my riding but this year I seem psyched for some reason. Its funny how the sport progressed since back then :UCI,street,UK,Canadian(whatever the hell that is) etc... I dont even know what style I ride myself.

I got short stays with a pretty high BB does that make me UCI, I like backwards nose manuals does that make me UK, I do alot of spinning moves does that make me canadian(or maybe its the fact that I am canadian). whatever........

:?

I went riding with MCdub's crew when I first moved to Montreal (I think two years ago). Of course they brought in some natural spot and they destroyed it. Me I dont particularly like riding natural ( funny thing is the only thing I remember I did during that ride is an Abubaca of a rock). After that I sorta lost contact with that whole crew. NOthing to do with them they all seemed cool. but I didn't have that much time to ride and honestly I didn't feel like doing natural with the little time I had.

For all of you waiting for a point I dont think I have one. Honestly all I know is during my time in this sport I got to know alot of people and I guess trials sorta saved me from drugs. I cant really ask for more from riding a bike.............right.......

You know what.......riding a bike is awesome, no matter what syle of bike you ride.....And I guess I should be happy to be really looking forward to next season(could that be a point)

anyway......cheers.

Like I said.....useless/pointless info

I've been riding my ZHI 1060 alot lately. Yesterday I rode a place that I could dominate 3 years ago, I couldn't do the same height moves at all but I had alot of fun anyway...starting to think that the whole "go big big bigger" isn't as important as style or solid riding and having fun doing what you want to do...there will always be the mentality of going big is better but my mind has changed a bit.

^^^ Way true. :werd:

My thing is technical riding, in creeks and drains when its raining. Not big stuff, just balance and fun. Just get on your bike and ride without a goal in mind and see what happens.

You know what, I had a big thing written out, but I think this summarizes what I have to say in words more eloquent than my own.

Labels don't make you a rider. Posting online makes you a rider.

Kidding, props to you for riding. Trials is a tiny sport but I think most of the people that stick around are pretty hardcore and love this shit.

I like that chinese teacher quote.

It's funny, it's like my riding has gone full circle since I started.

In the begining I was always riding by myself:

1. No one else knew what trials was in my home town.
2. I was a loner.

Then I was big into the demo/video stuff which is what I think gave me the kick in the ass to get better.

Now I'm back to just spending a few hours by myself and learning new stuff.

Of course people should ride what they love ( I think that might be another of the multiple reasons why trials isn't that popular, where so subdivided that
that it makes it even harder to find like minded riders.)

I see trials a bit like flatland, I think you have to be able to enjoy time by yourself to stay in the sport more than 2-4 years.

The drive to ride for me is to get that rush when you first pull that new trick (you know the fisrt time you bunnyhoped the correct way not the xc way...)

Personnally I know I.m in this sport till my back just doesn't let me do it anymore.

There was a period when I was very cynical (again ...french... dont regard spelling) It seemed like everyone was quitting (I find it's usually when kids get their first car or start the 2-3 year long party craze most people get around 17.

Wow I just keep going dont I...................

Sorry for waisting all your time

cheers

ya fucking canadians!!! :joshers:

I almost enjoy biking by myself sometimes more than with a group!!
I feel more presured to ride what everyone else is riding as oppesed to what I like :dunno:

Great post east, and riding is somthing that has always been apart of my life, and ALWAYS will be.
All the way from the beginging as a kid rockin my huffy with the checkerd flag paint job, with my friends. Going through high school, still riding my bike as much as a possibly could. Then to an adult, still deeply in love with riding.
I get some heat from people I know. All the movies that I own, are only bike movies. The only thing on my mind at all times is riding, and when bieng a passenger in a car, or on the bus, looking for new lines to hit.
Even meeting a small "unknown" community of riders that get together at least once a week to go tear it up and enjoy the benifits of riding bicycles.
Riding to me is the only time that I feel truly "free". I know that I can have a shitty day at work, and get on my bike and forget about all that is wrong. The stress of life can always be forgetten while spending time riding, no matter what style it is that I choose for the ride. Everything from road biking, to freeride downhill. I love every aspect that this sport has to offer.
I could give to shits and a fuck about anyone who I know that gives me shit because I love riding. At least I know that I am not living in a facade, bieng somone whom I am not. Which is a huge part of people I encounter day to day. Always trieng to be somone else. But deep down, I know who I am, and that person has a passion, and that passion is and always will be; riding my bikes.

im the exact same way.
everything can be crumbling down around you, but as soon as you get on your bike its gone, no more worries.
people always ask me when am i going to grow up and stop riding bikes as its for kids, n i just reply never, its what i do, its who i am and if u dont like it fuck off.
my real friends know that riding bikes is what i do n they support me with it...they will come out come out n watch me ride sometimes n even have a go even though they can hardly ride a bike...my gf didnt like it so much at first...i was always off riding n shit, but now she will even take me somewhere 2 ride n will take foto's n shit...i dont even need to ask for her to do that, she knows that i love to ride n she helps me out...and in turn she gets 2 ride me, which is my other favourite past time :naughty:

Took the words right out of my mouth.
