brian (aka rocpyro [the one with chuck norris as his avator]) had the best shining ever the other day, i took some pics after it healed some. its about 6" long and went all the way to the bone, so the bone was nicely exposed!

I hit my friggin pedal inserts. and I wasnt wearing shin guards:( but im cleaning it alot and keeping it bandaged. It kinda hurts and I prolly shouldnt ride for a few days(sweat and bacteria getting in it) so its a real bummer. hey, did the guy who had one worse get stitches? Im just wondering but im prolly gonna leave it like it is.

Yeah thats bad... I think I had a worse one though..... 14 stitches..... Then those stitches pulled through and i had to get it restitched. Not fun....

It's great now though cause all the nerves are destroyed and I can smash my shin and I doesn't hurt too bad.... As long as I hit the exact same spot.

If you are not getting stitches then you should put some plasters on your vagina like I did. Helped a lot.

lol. I've done it before. Burns like hell for a few seconds and then you're fine. Dunno if doctors would recommend k-mart brand stuff, but they don't recommend you rip open your leg either.

That clear bandage stuff is pretty much the same thing as superglue. Just cyanoacrylic with a brush.

Your skin is alive for 6~8 hrs for the stiches to work. The butterfly bandages are not as good as stiches by the way.

Rub your wound with soap wile shaving then disinfect it with some strong shit and put butterflys on with bandages or sew it up yourself if you are a strong guy like rambo. Replace bandages in 1-3 days or just take it of so your skin could breathe and dry up.
Do it now, don't wait onother week, otherwise you can leave it like it is - open.

I'm interested in using superglue, since i have lots around in the house and if i happen to shin myself, i know what to do. So, is it safe? Organic compounds in the blood don't sound so nice. I might get high on that, any idea what's the solvent used?

i've never done it overly deep but i've done it twice, badly, in one ride. leg was a mess. using VPs so it wasn't a cut, more like mangled bits of skin and flesh hanging off and the biggest bruise ever.

superglue has a higher content of CYANOACRYLATE than your over the counter fda approved dermabond/liquid bandage... wich may cause anaphylaxis (severe alerigic reaction) or sepsis (infection of the bloodstream by toxin-producing bacteria) wich in the worst case scenario will cause your kidneys to shutdown resulting in you not being able to ride three days out of the week because your hooked up to a dialysis machine 4 hours a wack- getting your blood filtered because you decided to pump an open wound full of a caustic chemical....... enjoy:sadwavey:

4 months ago I thought i had what would be a normal pedal slap, but I had jeans on and it hit my knee...there was basicaly no cuts there.


unfortunately to this day when I stand up or bend my knee it cracks twice, all because of being hit really hard by a pedal. Doesn't hurt anymore but It'll be with me for a while I gueth :greddy:
