use strapping tape, its got little fibers running the length of it.

Good stuff.

I'm using Gaffer's tape on my Try-all. Holding up so far.

craft ribbon
lighter than all the stuff listed above, comes in all sortsa color, cheaper, and not sticky so u can use just one layer(just stick the ends with some double sided tape, the pressure from the tube will hold it together)

I run 1 layer of electrical tape for color, and 1 layer of duct tape for the strength of the fibers.

You know that colored stripping on the front of shelves in stores? Fits perfect, and you have assorted colors depending on the department. You'll need two shelves worth for a rim.

Duct tape works well. The Echo stuff has been coming with some kind of thin rim strip thingy, but kinda shitty IMO. Try the ribbon idea...I'm interested in that too.

Yes... duct tape works very well, so does hockey tape. the try-all rimtape (its in red usually) works well also

All us guys in Sydney use Kite repair tape, thin, strong adhesive (or not if you don't peel the acking off) and heap of colours to choose from. We get ours from http://www.kitepower.com.au/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16797&substring=tape

but if you seach for a Kite shop in the states I'm sure they could sort you out. You need about 2 metres per wheel.

I was using duct tape, then I bought the Tryall rim strips through Webcyclery which fit really nice and look better. They are $5 for each wheel though.
