I have a leak between where the fitting screws onto the cylinder, I don't think it can be tightened anymore without breaking it. Is this the end of it or can something be done?

Take it apart and put a small rubber grommet in there before tightening. Either that, or call up Magura USA for advice. I've called there many times for advice, and they're good people.

Take the fitting out, wrap a bunch of teflon tape around the upper threads, and use a rubber washer or even a copper washer would help.

That should do it.
