2 weeks ago I broke my Magura crossover line, a week ago I replaced it with a steel braided line and today I broke the line again. This fucken sucks, sure the cable didn't break but now its the thread. This is just fucken dandy. Check out the pics... Anyone know if this is fixable or what I should do? I was thinking just replace it with regular magura line and put a booster. What a piece of shit, 25 bucks jsut so I can ride for a week, sorry guys im just pissed. :rant2:

that sucks, for a while i was breaking lines all over and was ready to ditch maguras, then something magical happened and they stopped breaking

im pretty sure on the stainles steel crossovers, the barbed fitting is like fixed in so you may need to get a new one or something. sorry to hear that, but i guess it could be worse.

there is a reason why i've refused to run anything but a booster on all of my frames, whether they needed one or not :o

Well if you keep cutting em short, thats why you keep breaking em,not maguras fault.

I saw his crossover on Tue and noticed it was too tight on his brake.
Anyways, I hope we have Ti thread on crossover

I kick the damn thing when I do pivots and when I jump my bike to the left. Anyways I didnt cut the line it came like that. It fit tight but not too tight where I had to force it to stay like that. The barb fitting snapped, I shouldnt need a booster, I thought the crossover line would be sufficient since the line breaks at the plastic tubing. The thing Im worried about now is that mine might not be the official magura line, since mcdubs has what looks like stronger screw on bolts. Can anyone confirm if this is a real magura line?

Im having my doubts because all the pictures I find of the magura braided lines have silver hose fittings like Mcdubs. I have not seen any like mine...

well, why dont u check magura website?
go to get a booster,u only need a 2 bolt booster to protect ur crossover line.
maybe u need to adjust ur brake too.

Get a booster not for the boost but for the protection as it acts as a brushguard against your foot.

As for fixing it: It should be easy. Take a small allen, reverse drill bit, or easy out (all acquirable at a hardware store) and gently stick it into the remainder of the fitting you snapped, twist lefty loosey till it's out.

Buy a new magura fitting (heck if you were local, I'd give you one.) re-install, BLEED, RIDE.

I guess this goes to show they are not bomb proof... yeah, ok I will get a booster, sounds like the best possible solution to my problem.

All those stainless lines were magura. However, mcdub bought the full stainless kit and jokeem bought just the crossover. Full Stainless kit is a nicer setup and the crossover for it is much more flexible.
