Call me crazy!!
I am new to the sport and want to buy a 20" mod in good to great shape. Looking to spend $300 -$400. I dont want to spend big money on my first bike as I dont know if Iwill like the sport. Also I'm sure being a beginner I will bang up the bike a bit. I need one complete, as I have never built a bike from scratch. Starting off with a complete bike will allow me to dissasemble for maintenance and upgrades as needed, which will allow me a better understanding of the components. Can any one help?
Please don't try to off load your old junk that you cant evan give away. I am very anel and like keeping my things in tip top shape.
Thanks

The only bike you will get in "Tip Top" shape for $300-400 is a used lower end monty.

Dang man, help a brother out. There must be someone that wants to see a new guy get a good deal, and that wants to upgrade there ride.
I would be ok with a Monty as long as it has Hydro brakes. Or mounts for Hydro's that I can upgrade later.

Ya I looked at this bike, but Im going to pass. I hate to be judgementle, but if that is the way this guy stores his stuff I cant imagine that his maintenance procedures are any thing to be proud of. ( pic says a thousand words). Please note I am very anel.

If i were you, I'd buy that bike. It's almost brand new and for a beginner like you, it's a great deal.
I hope you enjoy the sport!

That bike was sold and shipped to Cali. I missed the deal. ( a day late and a dollar short, LOL)

The 219 is in great shape, the garage was being moved around to fit in 2 motorbikes and a bobcat. As for maintenance i grease everything once a month, wash it after every second ride, and make sure nothing is loose before i ride. All my bikes moto or bicycle are ALWAYS taken care of, if not, things tend to go wrong real quick.

Anal. Goddamnit, how can you be anal about cleanliness and yet your spelling rivals that of an 8 year old?
That 219 is in perfect condition, and for the budget you're in, don't expect a showroom finish.
that wasn't meant at you, anotherfatbastard..

Well not that anal, I compete on mototrials and had a bike break down because of lack of maintenance. Ever since then I try to maintain what I ride.
And yes my punctuation sucks badly, spelling.......well, ya that too!!!:slap:
That $300-$400 US? Cause that's a bit better.

if its an 05 echo team for $300-$400 then either its frame only or in bad condition...then again maybe i could be wrong and he got it from a friend so he got a good deal.

No I didnt get that lucky, I spent $300 extra on the 05 Team, but the bike is like new. I think i got a fair deal. I realized that to get what I wanted I would have to step up in the cash department. (a new one from webcyclery is $1200.00) about 50% off seams fair to me.
