Ive been wanting to try my hand at trials for a while now. I started out building up a planet x jack flash RAD (the Dual slalom version), with nice kit like HS33s and so on. Turns out the geo completely sucked asss. The stays are like 17inch and the HA is about 68 (not kidding) with a 80mm fox float. Anyway I could pull better moves on my Foes FXR.

Just bit the bullit and bought a woodman T-pro trials bike, complete with some nice parts(king hub, drilled PX rim, Bonz cranks). I got it cheap, mainly for the parts since I didn't know the story on the frame. Im a light guy(150), good handling skills from riding everything from skinnies to 10ft drops in Canada to XC racing on my singlespeed. I can bunnyhop, wheelie, and manual pretty well; rear wheel stall and pedal kick if I get lucky.

Just wondering if the frame is to advanced for a beginner, etc. I just don't want to start with a bike that I won't like.

That frame will last you a while. It's not too advanced, and if you're coming of a dual slalom bike, it won't feel like a culture shock.

Are you the guy that got the one from eBay? I watched that bike for awhile... but it went too high for me to justify buying.

Wow, 500 bucks was a steal. Didn't even reach my max bid. Cosidering the the rear wheel is worth about 250, I couldn't believe how cheap I got it.

How did you build you PX for less than 500? Oh the Bontrager wheels. Those should last a week.

What makes you think I paid less than $500 for my Planet X? I said it went too high to justify buying the Woodman because I was planning on parting it out and selling it as pieces. That rear hub doesn't do much for me, as I just built a black King ISO up on an Alex rim last week.
It's one thing to pay for a new trials bike, it's entirely another to buy a used one in which the seller can't post current pictures. I have no intention of buying into somebody else's problems. I asked for current pictures, and when the seller couldn't supply them, I gave up on even bidding. No way.

Also, good luck with that frame. You better hope it never breaks on you, because if it does, you're SOL. If I'm not mistaken, those frames are famous for cracks... look around, you'll find plenty of threads.

You can read what good information I provided on the last thread. Go here: http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/showthread.php?t=17154

It should be a good starter frame/bike for you. Atleast you got a deal on the bike. Hope it works for you.
