Hey everyone,

I've decided to start a thread with pics of places to ride around locally where I live and I think it would be cool for everyone to start one for their area. Anyway, I will post a location, with pics or stuff to ride, directions on how to get there and approx time to get there from a major city or location. This should serve as a nice archive for future riders. If you have any places to add that are local feel free to post, just be sure to follow my general format. Thanks all!

To start off, we have The Buford Dam. Located in Buford in the 30519 zip code.
These are just a few pics, there are also other things to ride nearby that I will get pics of as I visit them:

Directions: Take I-85 north to I-985 and take the first exit, exit 4. Turn left onto Hwy 20 (Buford Dr), drive about 2 miles to peachtree ind. and turn right onto peachtree ind., stay on peachtree ind for about 1.2 miles till you come to Little Mill rd., turn left on little mill rd, take it till it ends at buford dam rd., Turn left on Buford Dam rd and continue about 3.5 - 4 miles, you'll pass many parks and such, the place where these pics are taken is at the last park on the left just before you cross the dam. If you cross the dam you've gone to far...You can't really miss it cause the final turn before the dam points you to the park.

Also, if you cross the dam and take a left immediately after crossing there is a gravel road that takes you to the bottom of the dam and there are some small rails and posts to ride there (I'll get pics if I can). However, the first park is much better.

The approx drive time from I-285 (Atlanta Perimeter) is between 30-45 minutes.

Any comments or suggestions please feel free to PM me.

Enjoi!

well if you're going up 985, why not just go to the lake and ride on the rocks when the water level's low?
