Canadian Team?

All this talk about the US championships has got me thinking about the trials scene in Canada. Is there an event in Canada like the US Championship that determines a Canadian team?

If there isn't a team, why? If there is, who was on the team last year, and how do you get on it?

I past years out west, there's a Canadian team (Dave Herr, the Baias, Dylan Korba, Justin Lee etc) that goes to some of the BIU rounds, Japan and such. I'm not exactly sure which comps act as the qualifiers, or if it's simply a matter of whoever wants to pay their travel expenses and such, but get in touch with DangerousDave, he'd be able to give you more info.

For anyone who knows (Dave and others), are BIU events national team only, or could you show up and compete? Maybe get something with the local town or province to help with some of the expenses and throw in a maple leaf jersey?

Robin Coope is the BIU delegate, but I'm sure he'd have info about UCI comps also.

John Webster went to japan.

LAst year they went to andora and other rounds.

In canada if you want to compete at the worlds and have the money to go, you just contact robin coope and go. There is NO official national team. There are a few riders who go to the BIU comps each year, and I think John is planning to do the whole BIU rounds next year, I don't know about other riders.

The 3 biggest canadian competitions on the other hand are AOTK on vancouver island and the Squamish test of metal, and trialsworks in whistler if it continues.

Do you actually want info on the world rounds? I could go on for pages and pages so fire out some questions and I'll do my best to answer them
