These two pics are sick...
split at the seam or something?
ive never seen a rim slipt that far... build it up and it should be fine though :dunno:

put some wire through the spoke holes on either side of the seam and twist the two ends so that they tighten and pull the seam together. It's split in transit or summit. The spoke tension will tighten it as well, but will make it a bitch to build right.

Why aren't the spoke holes equidistant from the seam? Is the tube hole funky too, close to one spoke, or not 180 from the seam? Sloppy. That would tick me off more than the hoop not being closed. Not going to look too reassuring with a 32 spoke 3x pattern because the spokes won't cross there, but it's all the same.
Hmmmmm, looking again, that first hole right of the seam is maybe drilled wrong. Could be the pic, but it looks to me like that hole is about a spoke-hole-width off. Close the gap, and make sure the distance between the spoke holes ctc is the same as all the other holes. If not I'd return it.
