What are the major differences (pros and cons) between the Echo Pure and the Control?
Thanks, -Mikey

Which model control?

Based on 04 models.

I have a pure. Its a great bike, the geo is really nice. Maybe a bit flexy in the rear end. But other than that good. Oh, that dent resistant downtube, really!...it is. (Just thought I would brag, I landed pretty damn hard on the downtube on a highway divider, Very tiny dent :) )
The differences I found between my pure and my friends 04 control (Both 1085 Wb)were the control was so much stiffer. Like I said the pures rear end was much more flexy than the control. Not to say its so bad that the wheel rubs when you kick, it's just a noticable difference. Plus the control has a +20mm bb opposed to the pures +10 which with the proper stem makes getting up on the rear wheel easier. I really didn't try anything on his bike because I didn't want to wreck anything. But those are just two things I really noticed.
I think they both have the same headtube angles, chain stays lengths.
One has a seat, one doesn't. Control is much better, pure is still good. I love mine, but if I could switch now, I would definitely get the control.

No, I think they only made them through 2003 and 2004, but they are a very tough frame and i'm not sure if any have cracked yet ? I find it ride's great, good solid frame.

Pro: Control Con: Pure

i have a 03 pure, but i want to advance to somthing with more standover, shorter stays, bb height, and some cnced yokes and stuff...

I'd say control. More standover and higher bb.

i'm not sure if any have cracked yet ?
My mates 03 pure's dropout snapped. The crack was through the hole where hanger is bolted.

The newer pures have more stand over. I think they're still making them for 05. At least tartybikes site has them listed as 05. Nothing different though. Same as 04. Probably just left over stock.

Thanks for the reply,
It sounds like everyone says the controll. Then (correct me if I'm wrong) but why is it less expensive?

Also,
Pure. hint hint Do you want to sell that?

"KeEn" in disguise?
Why would I need a disguise? :squint:
Regarding thrad: If I want to sit down I ride my woodman. Otherwise, im on my echo control <3. I must say I am intrigued by the pure. I might order one soon since I need a bunch of parts anyway.

p.s. disguises are for douchebags :coold:

Why do you want a pure if you have the better echo and another bike?
Its like, going from a bakery style cheese bun to those crapy prepackaged things safeway makes. Maybe not as significant, but the gist of my point has been heard.
