Ok, so i've finally decided that maxxis makes shit tires for trials (at least most of them suck), and Michelin is now my choice for mostly urban and some natural... i need quick opinions about the Mountain Xtreme (formerly Hot S) and the red/black 2.5 vs. grey 2.2 vs. the DH 24 A/T 2.5 vs. DH 24 A/T 2.2!

I'm not too concerned about quick wear at this point in time, i just want a grippy tire.

thanks for all the help:)

for the rear, just get a DH24 a/t ('twas called the Comp 24.1 in previous times).. either size will suffice. The last few miTch's i've run have been a 2.5.. 2.2 is a bit lighter thats the only real difference.

dh 24.1 2.2" or 2.5" is the best choice for a rear tire, the only difference is size, unless you are huge (200lbs+) or ride really rough, dont bother with a 2.5.

i have no idea what hte fuc ka grey tire is. sounds gay.
the hot s is a decent front tire, nothing more.

imo michelin dh 24.1 2.2 is the best rear tire ever. it takes a certain person to like a maxxis i think.

yeah, i hate it when my tires do everything i expect them to.

if you are riding urban you dont need a bling ass tire. just get some shit and ride it. the 24.1/dh24/wtf ever they are calling it now is good in a 2.2 for urban.

in reference to certain types who like maxxis.

typically the best kind of tires to run are the black ones with knobs on them. for urban it doesnt matter. kenda, tioga, michelin, maxxis, whatever- it's all the same on 90 deg angles.

the larson TT i tried out on an acquaintance's DS bike -- that slipped all the time. the minion was deece (lol) but directional, and it just didn't give me the confidence to up a small ledge without slipping a little

directional? are you serious? just fyi, every single michelin tire is as "directional" as the minion.... were you using the front version or the rear?

run a try-all 26x2.0 on front and a comp24 2.2 on the rear = ultimate tire combo
