Hello everyone

Do Plaz pads need wearing in or anything?? I finally changed to new pads, after 3 years on the same set! I did not use on a grind until about a year afterwards on the 1st pair, and that felt great instantly.

However I changed to some new ones on the weekend and it feels shit! I put a grind on it today and it still slips. Even my old pads on a worn grind felt better :(

And I will try grinding again a bit deeper anyway but just wanted to know if they need time to work better? Thanks

Grind the fuck outta it mitch.

I get the same thing when i change pads, they work like crap, I put a sharp grind on and even pads with oil work aweosme cause they wear off the oil straight away, downside is pads last like 1 month.

he meant Plazmatics (those yelllow ones)

That had happened to me when i chucked in new pads to the bike, slipped too...and didn't make that Trials 'Hoot' sound:(

So what i discovered, the rim wasn't clean, actually had yucky stuff on it (even when i had a fresh grind) as before with the old pads, (yuck pads + yuck rims = oh yeah) but in this case, it's (yuck + clean = not good) so it's either that problem...or...

I had recently chucked in NEW set of pads...Zoo! to be specific (and i've used em before and know how great they are) and didn't make that Trials sound again, and had realised after playing around/washing up rim heaps, it was actually the setup, even when the pads were 'bit' off, it didn't grab at all!! and these are Zoo pads we're talking about!! now they're setup fully parallel and awesome! grabs awesome and beautiful extremely loud noise:bigthumb:

so it's either the cleansiness of the rim or the setup

I find that my plaz v-pads actually work at their best a couple of rides AFTER a grind. So don't grind the fuck out of it - just ride them in a bit, keep checking that they're parallel (pull lever hard, loosen pads, wobble pads around, tighten pads, release lever)

Mitch...... Your grinds are generally pretty shallow, compared to the ones that Peace performs.... Really give it to it......

And use that shit I have in a spray bottle over here, your brakes will never slip again.....

well I havent grinded it again yet.. but yeah its not very harsh. But i took it for its first ride today and it did get better after a bit of riding. Maybe they do need a slight amount of wearing in. For anyone that also wonders
