How do you like the V-brakes? Have you ever used HS-33's? Are you grinding or just running tar? I am asking because I run V's, like the weight savings, and am generally happy with them, but occassionally they slip..... Very nice bike by the way.

trialsian- if you arent getting a frame with 4-bolt mounts dont even thionk about getting maguras. v-brakes work the best on frames with post mounts.

interesting front wheel. Can't see how lacing a rim that way makes much of a difference, other than loss of strength.

nice bars :hsugh:its from steel, it was 680 mm, i made 760mm and i think its quite rigid but weighs 600 g

Very nice bike by the way.i like v-brakes very much. i haven't used hs. i just use tar. i think: avid stuff + not grinded rim + tar + hard pads = good braking, thats all...

hows the zoo cranks?
do you know what isis bb width you are using?
i was thinking of getting the zoo cranks for my 05 pitbull, at the moment i've just got the old echo square taper.

so you saved 100g on the front wheel to use a bar which is 200g overweight?

since i have't much experience with fw cranks, so i cant advise u anything. am using zoo cranks for ~2 months and i can tell u one thing, they are stiff and have a nice looking. i run try-all bb, 127.5 mm lenght. the shorter bb won't fit in no way if you are going to run fw, just get longer bb and there wont be any problems.
my bar is 300g overweight, but i dont care... i havo no money for new bar at the moment

thanks davke
yeah looks like you have quite a lot of rise on the bar and a few spacers under the stem so you won't be able to set it up like that with a zoo riser bar anyway.
nice rock garden!
