I'm about 5'10 or so. I've been riding a PX Jack Flash for a few years but I want to move to a more UCI geo frame. I found a 1040 Koxx LB for cheap, but I'm wondering if it'd be too short. opinions? thanks

what about me?

I've got the same predicament,.. 1040 frame 0mm BBrise and I'm looking at longer frames. I'm 5'11".

1065 or 1085-1100?

garrett, even though a 1040 isnt a long frame, and you could probably manage a longer frame no problem, the 1040 you're looking at is a good deal, and wont be such a shock in change from your current... except that rear wheeling will feel like the bike isnt "fighting" you anymore.

Go for a 1065, I am 179cm and it fits me perfectly.

I'm 5 8", rode the 1040 for a season and a bit(minus 6 mos winters) I would compare it to a stiffer echo urban or bounce, and tibo(minus ha and bb rise). Depends on your fork, but with an echo pure it comes in at 1047ish...

The bike will be a huge improvement over what you have now. You'll instantly be a lot better at everything, except street stuff. I found the shorter wb to be better for two wheeled riding, hooking the bike in strange situations, roll outs.

I thought the reason i couldn't sidehop from rear was the short wb. But it turns out that even a longer wb doesn't help me. The bike taps, touch ups and sidehops well...I've seen dangerousdave do all that and my excuses for short wb were no longer acceptable-damnit

The bike won't tap as well as a longer bike, but it is the rider in most cases. You do have the option of the bunnyhop with this bike though.

I rode a lb 1065 and absolutely hated it! Was a decent set up too.
I would recommend a 110-120mm stem, shorter if your about the street.

Its a tough choose:p

I went from 1004 mm to 1065 mm and instantly got a lot better at absolutely nothing. I am 6 foot 2 and ride a 1060 mm bike. It feels on the long side for me but I prefer to have more control over the bike than the bike has over you, something that is long gone these days.

Just putting the other opinion out there. Pick what you want.

6 foot and my 1060 feels good. Although I cant say Ive ridden a longer bike for more than .5 minutes..It feels great compared to my bmx.

im 5'10-11ish / 1700[and-something]mm (in bike terms), and ride 1080, it feels great!

I rode a brisa before (which is 1040) and it felt ok but I feel the extra length now just makes everything easier. I rode an XTP long and found it a little too long, but certainly nothing I couldnt get used to.

Just for conversation length isn't everything. I ride a PX Tibo which has a 1050 WB. I've ridden a Caisso for a bit and defintely feels shorter although it has a 1065 WB. The head angle and BB height can make a big difference. Look at everything. Best bet is to find some bikes to try out.
