I currently have a shimano deore rear hub and it's starting to skip...I really want to upgrade and I'm trying to decide on what to do. Should I get a nice hub like a King or how about a Hope? I'm not sure if I can afford the King. Or should I go the freewheel fixed hub option? If anyone has an opinion let me know. I saw on trialsin.com that they have a freewhell with 72 engagement points. Can I even use that on my stock bike or is that mod only. I'm new to this and still real confused.
king hub is the best option no matter what, and cheaper than a decent freewheel sey up if yo uwant to stay with your current cranks.

Its worth saving up for a king. There are other alternatives that just dont compare.
Buy a new freehub body for you shimano which is just 10 bucks and then save for the king.

I also recommend the king, completely rebuildable, cheaper in the long run, easy to service, lots of people have them now.
This is not backpedalling, there's a difference.
But that sounds better with a king too. I have three now. And a headset.
