Is this chain actually any good for trials. My thought is that the bend in the link just adds weakness.
I searched but couldn't find anyone who has used it.

i have heard pretty much only good things about it. They seem to be the chain to switch to if you're breaking everything else. The nice thing about the halflinks is that it's really easy to get the perfect chain length.

The Shadow chain is awespme. It's obviously much heavier than a normal mtb chain, but pretty damn tough though. I have one on my street bike, with no bashguard at all, and I do alot of disasters with no preoblems so far (four months?) I'd say get it if you want strength and don't care about weight. It also will NOT fit in between deraileur plates unless you do some modifications. Good luck whatever you decide

Why spend much money on a Shadow if you can get a proven KMC Kool Chain for little money?

P.S.: Just because a chain holds up fine on a street bike does not mean that it is good for trials abuse.

The only thing proven to me about the KMC "cool" cahin is that I've been through a bunch of them personally. The thread was asking about the interloc chain, so I gave him my personal opinion. Thats what he asked for, so thats what I gave him. Also, the fact that it holds up to me bashing the shit out of it on my street bike has alot to do with it's durability, and does indeed bear a relavence to trials.

P.S. : why does everyone here always want to start some kind of shit instead of just replying to the question in the thread?

It is the strongest chain out there pretty much right now. It should be way more than you need for trials. You can grind on the chain.

imo overkill unless you are hugeee

its a great chain...the kmc kool will suit anyone for bike trials though, at half the price/weight.

I have interlock. its great. definitely wont break. Ive heard some cools snapping.
Mine interlock stretched quite a bit in the first week of riding. But Ive heard thats normal - just like any other chain.
