Just in case you guys didnt notice, the hole in the tensioner doesnt line up with the hole in the hanger...which sucks.

or return it and get a surly or somethingIt doesnt work that way. Theres a bolt that screws into your hanger. A surly wouldnt be a bad alternative though. I'd see if you can get someone to make you a hanger that the rennen would work with because its way better then the surly in my opinion.
so why wouldnt a dremmel work?

because it is blatantly not inline with the threads in the hangar...
what is there for the bolt to bolt onto? I guess you could use a huge washer.

I second the custom hanger suggestion! Either that or make a new arm for the rennen. I know it wouldn't be as cool as the real thing, but maybe you could make a new one for the BT, and then you just sell the actual rennen one.

Then get a bolt with a thin head, feed it through the deraillure hanger from the inside. Throw a nut on the outside cutting the protruding nipple so you dont skin your leg or something.
Not too tragic.

exactly what I was thinking! .. it'd be way easier than worrying about making a custom mech hanger. unless of course you're a machinest and can make one yourself.

I had the same problem with my Rennen/BT5, I just went nuts on the Rennen with a rat tail file to get the adjustment slot to line up with the hole in the hanger. It's not that pretty but it works. Another thing that helped with mine is that I bought mine used and the guy that I got it from had already started the filing process to get to fit his bike.
Brisa B-26 use that same GT hanger as well.

That looks nice but-
Its under your QR, if its going to move your der. hanger wont stop it.
Like the effort though.

Not the best picture but it shows that it is possible.

whaa. What I meant to say is that while it looks nice and is mounted under the Qr -which I prefer- it still needs a hanger! If I go SS I dont want no hanger no mo. An axle mounted dealie would be cool for this reason.

why not the same thing but with another semi-circular slot above the axle where the hanger bolts on the the frame.

The reason I like the Rennen over the Surly or a rigged up derailluer is that the Rennen bolts flush against the hanger for it's entire legnth, from the axel the the derailluer mount. It would take a pretty serious train wreck bend all of that.

i think it would be pretty easy. if you landed on the tensioner, it would push up causing the hanger to bend forward. it'd never bend side to side, but it could bend forward quite easy. i used to do it quite often with my derailer, to the point where it closed off the dropout and i couldn't get my wheel out without bending it back. it does more damage to the hanger this way because it bends the thick way so is more likely to fail.
but whatever, make a steel hanger and abuse the shit out of it. 9/10 chance the doubters are wrong.

I vote for custom hanger. Make a nice beefy hanger that fits, maybe steel, and hard to bend.
Does anyone know what the bolt spacing radius is on the Rennen?
