OK, I don't care what anyone says about this bike, I think it's the nicest Mod I've seen. Copy of an XTP or not, I just really love the looks of this rig. Has anyone seen one up close yet? Riding impressions?

Is that head tube forged with those holes in it or what? Kinda looks like a weak spot to me. Not a bad lookin mod though

I'm thinking it's pretty much the exact same weld area, only turned 90 degrees to the side. I don't think it detracts from the integrity at all, just adds a little flair. I like the rear dropouts too. The bash mount is nice and solid looking too, it's a big forging(or machined piece, I'm not too sure) It just looks super cool to me. Also, the geometry seems like it would work pretty well.

judging from those pictures the bike can gap 7'4.123"
but it will break if you weigh more than 81.49kg

ps thats only approximate, if someone gave me the specs i'd give you some more exact opinions

None of the Pures, Controls or Teams since 2003 have ever cracked so I think it's safe to assume that Echo knows how to make strong frames.

that one is mine, and i know of at least one other team that cracked in north america in 2004

The old teams cracked there, the second generation team frames were beefed up there, and the new shiny xtp style teams are completely redesigned there.

And in fact I have the shiny new Team frame beside me, and I'm going to build it up tommorow.

So I built up my new Team and went for a short ride. Same geo, this new frame is a tiny bit heavier than the old one. But its wayyyyyyyyyy stiffer. The instant you step onto the pedals you notice it. The bike definitely feels much more solid. They went a bit overkill with the extra plates though...It looks a lot better than the old ones too. pics soon...
