Discovered the crack a month ago or so, back then it was like 1/3 the size and i kept riding..."le risky" but i couldnīt resist my trials urges

all of my planet x frames have cracked there...well, my jackflash cracked everywhere

My 2 and a half year old Urban has also been broken from there. Now it's welded and holds very nicely.

Is a weld trustable in that area?
Anyways, the frame has 2 other cracks. One on the bottom of the Toptube near the Headtub and one on at the left chainstay...not worth it

the reason that cracked is because there was a massive Heat Affected Zone, and the metal lost all ov its trength..if its rewelded its going to be brittle as fuck.

ffs you can reweld aluminium frames and not heat treat them and they last.

I Agree with elan, the frame will be hardcore brittle, if you take a big hit, that thing is gonna go some...

brittle or broken? I know what I'd prefer. If the frame repairer knows what they're doing they'll re-gusset the area to make up for the brittleness, as well as the clearly insufficient strength in the first place.
