Yeah, its called "Poisson d'Avril" over there i think. Traditionally, you are supposed to stick little paper fish on people's backs, not sure if they still do that over there though...

Yes, they still do that. We stuck a 11"x14" fish to my french teachers hair today. She didn't notice.
