what do you think of them? Have certain things become easier, harder, just different?
Ive ordered some already but theyve been taking so long that if I change my mind Im sure I can change the order in time.
I use a 20:17 with 170's and was going to change to 18:15 for the slightly longer cranks- is vincent still doing this?
thanks

Are you changing because you have a good reason to or because you want to do as Vince does?

I like short cranks, want to get 158's on my stock instead of the 170's I have now.

P.S. - I am no help

I ride 175's with an 18:15 drivetrain, as do a lot of euro guys including Vince. I have noticed this setup gives you more juice on your runups than compared with an 18:16 on 170mm cranks.

I've always ridden 175 but have been thinking about trying 165.

I recently switched from 170's to 175's. Not voluntarily. I can't say I've really noticed the difference.

Changed from 170's to 175 with same gearing-18/15.. had to get used to the timing change a bit.

Less clearance
More leverage
Longer pedal revolution
More power?

The cranks work and the pedals don't fall out.. that's the best part.

I dont find much difference between 170 and 175. I ran 170's for like 2 years and then went to megamo 175mm cranks the last year or so and it has worked out just a good as the 170's. With the longer cranks you obviously have to run a slightly harder gear. Like 170mm with a 18-17 feels similar to 175mm with a 18-16 set up.

18-15 will work nicely with the 175mm cranks...no worries

i ride in 175's.. not really much noticable different really.. only that your gear will be ever so slightly easier

I use the 175mm cranks with 18:15 gearing.

It's perfect! Makes pedalling on uneven ground easier somehow.. Just feels better than 170. Not that big of a difference though.

my 175's almost fell off yesterday, until I noticed the crankarm was moving around on the spindle. Just my own stupidity though. Too lazy to check crank bolts.

Yeah that's a good way to round out the spindle... try some loctite. Works great on my cranks.
