I got my king hub during christmas and have been riding it a lot. it had little skips during breaking in but it disappeared after awhile. and just today and yesterday, my hub skipped, and I mean big skips!!! twice. one I lost my engagment for like half a pedal stroke and today about 1/4. what could wrong with the hub? I'm kinda scared to go crazy on it right now

Is it brand new? If so, have you been tightening the bearing preload like you're supposed to durring the break in period?

i kinda had the problem with mine. what i did was pulled the freehub off and cleaned all the grease out with degreaser and dryed it. then i used a real thin light grease. i know king wants u to use their grease, but i have had no problems. sometimes the paws on the freehub stick with the grease from the factory.

i have a novatec hub and its not a cheap POS but its a good hub. when i bought it it was skipping fairly bad so i tok it to the lbs and they figured out it was the grease that the factory put in it and it was too thick and not letting hte pawls come out fast enough to engage and they would slip. this could be what is happening with your king.

Take that shit apart, spray everything out with wd-40, blow it out with air compressor, spray once more, let it dry, lube everything with ~10w synthetic oil, put it back together. My king was skipping like mad until I did this, haven't had a problem since.
