So I just had the my maggies bled. Finally, my brakes work again. Anyway, it seems to me that I've had to do this more and more often lately. I'm wondering, how often do you guys usually bleed Maguras?

maguras are ridiculously easy to bleed, I do it whenever my brakes feel like crap.

Once in 3 or 4 months when I was using maguras.

I see. Over the winter I've had to bleed em every month or so. Hmm.
the way i figure it, for every 730 times i masterbate, i bleed my brakes. this usually works out for the best unless i forget to lube my seals.

I've never bled a magura, used two different ones for a total of about 3 years. Never had any problems with the line.

They shouldn't need bleeding at all (in theory) if the seals / connections are all good. I replaced my hoses with transparent stuff and can see if / where bubbles appear. One of the guys here in Adelaide is having trouble with leaking piston seals and has to bleed almost every ride.
If you're having troubles it might pay to look for leaks (tighten all connections, look for worn hoses, check if there's signs of fluid around lever and piston seals).

I finally bled my brakes after 12 years (HS-22's) and I only bled them because the cross over hose on the front broke where it flexes when removing the front wheel. I just built my own bleeding tool, using a modified automotive vacuum brake bleeder, it took 10 minutes, and that includes adding all new fluid. one of the beauties is that no air is ever introduced into the system so I don't actually have to bled the system, only purge and refill. I will try to post some pictures of the tool in the near future.
