Echo's answer to the vinco? Looks interesting, and its not that ridiculously long wheel base either. Now if only I had some money.......

Interesting. Well, the head tube is unique and the dropouts look smooth. Is that chromed?

approx $625 for frame.... just polished, not chromed (though that would be cool too eh?!). End of April, beginning of May from usual suspects:

Oh my doG, NO! I can't explain it, but I've always hated chrome with a passion, closely followed by polished aluminum. One day, Pulo will invest in an etching and anodizing line. Please let that day be soon.

Hi-Fi ?? Is it tube or solid state?? I prefer the warmth of tubes.

that looks great, and the price sounds right. loving the geometry, making a long wheelbase feel shorter, that's awesome. might just pick one up when they come out. thanks for the pic and info tim
Hey, it's the new EchsTP.

Tubes on a guitar amp = OK. Tubes in a stereo amp = hokey BS. tubes introduce midrange harmonics and add sound that's not on the recording...you're not hearing what was cut in the studio. I think they're mainly gimmick to sell expensive equip
As much as I like to see companies come out with new stuff, I don't see how the head tube adds to the design even remotely. I doubt there's much more surface area at the HT/TT and DT/HT junction. It's interesting looking and I suppose that has value.

I like the looks of it and of the XTP fom which it obviously draws some styling Que's. My only issue is that high ass BB shell. I wish there was a frame with the Geometry of my BT 5.0, but with a slightly shorter(maybe an inch or so) top tube. I'm all about my super short chainstays, but I personally would like a little less reach to my bars, and running a shorter stem just feels bad
Rear half is really sweet. But front of frame looking suxx

looks pretty sweet to me... now if only they'd make it with v-brake bosses... not to get that old argument started up again, but it seems like it'd be so easy for them to make a run of all their bikes with v-brake bosses. If a polish company (BT) has the sense to do it, why can't echo/zoo?

The echo pure, bounce and zoo boa are available with v mounts.
I'm guessing if there was enough sales of the v mounted version of the pure. Echo would opt to have a v mounted version of the hi-fi. If there wasn't enough sales, it's common market sense not to.

Anybody would have more information on the geometry of the frame? It is nice but they do not know what it has in the skin.

douche bags should have put a seam weld beetween toptube and downtube
ya that headtube crap looks gay
polished :barf:
still take one for free though
i like the geo a lot... if it weighs inbetween a LB and a XTP, ill buy one and peel off "echo"

so..... you like high bb
what do you find it to be good for?
everything excpet two-wheel balance, which can be easily over come. rear wheel balance is ++++, clearance obviously, and a plethora of other things that i could mention if i made them up. as for things such as taps, the pros were of the opinion that all of hte fork height,bb height, stem height changes they have experimented with, made little or no difference. and hooks.. vinco can pull any hook that anybody else on earth can, so im not worried about that.
i was talking to Vinny about his new XTP, which has +40mm BB. he says that he is in the search for perfection, and this is as close as he's come to finding it. he admits he hasnt found it yet, however.
high BB is the way-ve of the future.

I agree with elan, I like the high BB but I also think the vinco is a little much. 40mm+ bb rise sounds perfect. Elan did you get to try the new XTP? How did it feel compared to your current XTP.
i rode the new xtp for about 5 seconds, and at that point i almost puked. the monty-style bars that vince was forced to use are absolutely horrible. so i have basically no experience on it. you could instantly tell it was a lot more stable on rear however. i trust vince though, and if he says +40, then +40 it is.

www.echobike.com (http://www.echobike.com/)
it's now updated with their 2005 bikes.
Looks quite unusual, the only similar frame is xtp, but i dont like build-in booster, i think echo should better do like xtp's rear =), but hi-fi is much cheaper, and this fact makes me glad!

Anybody got pics of one built up yet? That looks like a gnarly machine except for the crazy headtube thing. Is that really any stronger or better or is it's only function to look cool?
finally the echosite has been updated..... The frames look kinda smood, but the cheeseholes shouldn't be there.......

These new trials frames seem so ugly. Why my dream bike would be a mod with a seat, with one seat post and no holes and made from steel. :yum:
hello?
03-29-2005, 01:16 AM
whats up with all the 375mm chainstays in the bikes they have now, its gonna be really easy on the rear wheel with that high bb and short chainstays. i ride a raven and it doesnt have a super high bb but it does have hte short chainstays and i actually think there a tiny bit too short. i think with the high bb they should have 380mm CS and it would be perfect...but thats just my thoughts on the matter.
shorter cs - better bike feelings. anyway its better to economize your effort in some moves, so what is the problem? ^^^

Here are info about geometry for Exvarioman (and anyone else who cares!!!):
Wheel base: 1085mm
Head tube: 120mm / 71 degreed
Bottom bracket: 68mm / 55mm higher
Chain stays length: 375mm
A new echo stem is made espacially for this frame: 130mm/30 degreed
I hope that's what you needed

+55mm bb sounds ok, but the wheelbase.. too short.
I'll write Koxx an email and ask them to make me a signature frame. And I'll be a koxx team member soon - great!
