What is the closest place to Fort Collins to go skiiing?

the closest is eldora, but its a shitty place, the big resorts like breckenridge, vail and copper are like 2-2.5 hours away...

Does anyone know if there is any sort of transportation available between fort collins and any of these ski resorts?

Alright, how about what do you guys think the best place in Colorado is supposed to be. Im looking at Breckenridge, Keystone, and Steamboat Springs right now.

Go to breck, especially if you like park. Breck's park is hands down the best. Keystone is trying though, but their jumps and their pipe is not quite there yet. If you're not very good go to keystone, cause it's easier to find your way. Steamboat is good if you hit it on a powder day, cause the snow tends to be lighter, but other than that, the terrain at keystone and breck is just as good. Steamboat's park and nightlife blows ass too.

breck is prolly the greatest place to be... vail is overrated and crappy pretty much, everything is over priced beyond belief. keystone has great skiing but always has a crowd. A-Basin has great skiing and has less people, its only about 5 miles up the road from keystone.

ive never been to steamboat, so i donno.

if you want pure skiing go south, look up some info on wolf creek and durango and such. they get outrageous amounts of snow, and not too many people.

i hear loveland is hte best ski area ever..... pffffffffff ffffffffffffffff t

I will attest to the snow at wolf... silly pow , Purgatory... or Durango ski area or what ever the flock they call it now is sweet as well if you like being raped by snowsnake's on the backside and free hand jobs on the lifts by teenage porn stars... it's a sweet Mountain too
