Anyone have any advice for pad choice in cold weather, like 20's, 30's, 40's? I'm running Plaz CRM's now, which work great in warm weather, but seem to be lacking the colder it gets.
Are all pads like this?

must be just that the pads get harder when it gets cold. What do we do for hard pads? GRIND FUCKER!

my crm's work fine in cold on a ground rim. as long as I don't get the rim wet. Then it is really bad.

sorry to double-post, but I just remembered that last winter I ran spanish flys on a grind. they worked well.

If you dont have a grind on your rim, do it now.
On another note, my Koxx bloxx on ground BMF, or ground Onza/ALex are fine, i hope you pull the lever strong enough?
Meh, dont use tar, a grind is all you need.

Check sporting goods stores for Easton Pine Tar Spray. It's useless when wet, but it's sooooo easy to apply and it's not very temp sensitive. I've used for urban riding through Boston's winter. (30's, high 20's... I can't bring myself to ride if it's much colder than that)

yeah screw tar and other substance/fluid type brake helpers.... they are just unreliable when anything but dry happens...do a grind. almost nothing can interfere with a grind :D
I just ground my echo (dx32) rim and i use plaz CRMs.... and i was riding yesterday, the temp was mid to late 20s.... and they worked fine.. go ride
My K-S salmons work fine in the cold, w/o a grind, provided they are cleaned reguarly.
I use Koxx pads in sub -15Celsium conditions. They work nice with grind. tar works ok in cold if you apply it in warm.

Went out last night with some new heatsinks i have, was pretty damn cold, snowing etc (sorry for not taking a thermometer) they held pretty good.

yeah, just ordered some Koxx Bloxx. Methinks that I need to put a better grind on the rims. Only have a light one now. Thanks.
