I believe the BT6 will be available in 1065 or 1100. My BT5 comes to about 1095.

hello?

durability: very strong and can take a beating, gussets on the downtube. makes it kinda heavy though.
geo:very good, long and very short chainstays to make rear wheel hopping extremely easy. also has incredible standover to make it feel almost like a mod. ( mine feels similar to an echo team)
craftsmanship:i dunno what it really means
price:my BT5 came to about $600 CAD and i dont know if you can get any bt5's any more. www.hbtrials.com (http://www.hbtrials.com) might still have some. check there.
if not wait for the BT6 in march or something cause it sounds sick.

The BT 5.0 is an awesome ride, as will be the 6.0 I'm sure. The quality of build on these frames is great too. The tubing is fairly thick, so the bike might be a little heavier than a competition only frame, but thier made to last for the long haul. The short rear end makes them very easy to do rear wheel stuff, and the nice long wheelbase makes "real" trials move much easier. This bike is incredible on natural, but I mainly do street trials on mine. my only complaint is that I can't manual it at all, due to the longish top tube I'm guessinmg, but I suck at manuals anyhow. I'd highly reccomend the BT bikes, any model, and hope you enjoy your decision regardless of what you end up purchasing

Man,if you cant get the front up, just pedal it up instead of just pulling!
Its not as good looking as just pulling it up but you can even pull up the front of a DH bike

Also i learned, if you want to do really long manuals on your trials bike, get the tire pressure up, at least for the ride you plan to manual alot.
I can double the distance when i go up from 13 psi to 18 psi or more.

I'm thinking my issue is that I'm only five foot eight or so. Also the fact hat I can't manual doesn't help much. I can ride a seated wheelie on my mountian bike for miles literally, but no manuals. Kinda wierd huh?

No, manuals are 10x harder to learn

That's pretty much what I had to say. Another point (coming from a 4.0 owner) is that they're developing very quickly - my bike is much simpler overall than the 5 or 6.0. With a small company like it is, Rav's frames are just plain getting better. That said, my 4.0 is a great, solid bike. My only complaint is that the down tube isn't super thick (compared to a level boss that is).

i loved my 4.0. the craftmanship is the same type you'd see of a taiwanese bike. its really not bad. it rode incredibly well, i highly recommend it.

I love my 5.0, even as the first trials specific it rides like champ. No problems so far. This frame is solid. And the top tube design is a nut saver.

Frame rides great, as all have said. It was a huge step up from my former ES4R. Super sturdy - I have hit it hard and only come away with one small dent.

one quick caveet: Paint job - sucked. Paint has stripped on the head tube and around the drop outs.

can someone tell me how much the 5.0 and or 6.0 wieghts? im considering a bt or echo.

hydroboy
04-20-2005, 11:35 PM
dont decide because of weight. bt rides better imo, i rode an echo then switched to bt.

tomacropod
04-21-2005, 12:01 AM
absolutely. Weight is about the same. Anything in the 4-5lb range is all much of a muchness. BT rides lighter - shorter stays.

how long are chainstays?

RAVen 4.0: 385mm
RAVen 5.0: 375mm
RAVen 6.0: 375mm

does anyone rides bt 30" bar ? how does it perform?

It's very good for balancing and my wrists like the BT bar much more than a Try All bar.
