A small bu tenthusiastic crowd greeted the gloomy skies of Fontana's Southridge Park, on Sunday, for the PATH sponsored biketrials event. The constant threat of rain in SoCal has made for small turn-outs at the last few events. Organizer Zak Maeda continues to build the sections, always hoping for more riders.
The sticky mud made for tricky sections, taking points from the assembled riders. BAsed on recent comments, Zak toughened up the beginner/sport sections, to the point of dinging perennial sport/vet class winner, terry Elam, for a total of 24 points & 3 cleans. Elam usually makes his way through the traps in a great fashion, normally accruing only about 10-15 points. The severity of this week's event, took him by surprise. Old pro JAson Dunnahoe showed up on his ancient GT mod, and rode to a credible pro win with 11 points/ 4 cleans. Pete Sturtevant won the experts with 16/0.
