Hey,

Does anyone here own a Brisa B26D, im thinking about buying one. I was just looking for some input on this bike, looks good the price is very good. Is this bike worth the money? and what are people experiences on it?.
If it helps right now im riding 03 Evolve, and im looking for a frame that is more trials specific, but also falls in a reasonable price range.

Any help would be greatly appericated.

Thanks

I kinda like the way Brisas ride, I dont particularly care for the durability of them though. I doubt that brisa will be afloat very much longer...they have been getting consistently worse.

I rode one for a year and it definitely wasn't bad. But there are things out there that are much better. There is also talk of the things breaking and a buddy of mine did have his downtube crack for no apparent reason. Most people here hate Brisa and you can definitely do better for the money. I now have a planet x tibo and it is pretty nice. If you are looking for the rear disc the tibo seems to be doing well and I haven't had a problem with 6 months of use now. If you are leaning towards riding UCI (aka without using the bash) the B26D is not the way to go. You should be able to find more stuff about it using the search.

Not sure on the price, but check on the new incarnation of your frame...

Another vote here though not to spend your money on Brisa, not worth it at all.
Maybe if the bike was given to you... otherwise there are plenty of more worthwhile deals at Webcyclery or Trialsin. Check out Echo and Zoo for complete bike options, plenty of other frame only options for great prices as well.. BT, used Koxx Level Boss is pretty much indestructable.

Keep checking with everyone here on your ideas... most will guide you in a good direction.

how much can you buy this brisa for? if its under $600 complete and has decent components id say go for it, then get a new frame/fork set when that one breaks.

tim, i am proud to admit that i am so far beyond caring about that tired debate. i just thought it funny that Norco, of all companys, would do this.

it is quite clear that there is not enough going on in trials if people copying each other is still this big a deal...

I rode the new evolve at a shop the other day, and besides the fact that the average shop can't setup a trials bike, it felt suprisingly good for its price.

I keep hearing that Brisa will have their new line out...break out the party hats!

Hey,

Yea i don't think im going to be going with the brisa anymore. Based on what a lot of people have been saying, its just not going to be worth it.

So my hunt will still continue, i went to "Webcyclery", and the Planet X Tibo looks really good, and i actually got to ride on at my local shop, and i must say its one hell of a bike. Anyone on here have one? Experiences with it?

Anyways ill be posting about differen't things in the future.

I am unaware of any B26D needing to be warrantied. Maybe I am wrong. If I am then I think it is about time to let it go, the 26D is a solid frame. Sure they had problems with thier forks and a few older frames have broken.

I suppose a Planet-X, Zoo, Koxx, or Norco has never broken?

They (Brisa) do have thier own riding characteristics, all bikes do. Brisa is working on a UCI frame.

Yes alot of people have had problems with brisa in the past(frame breakage) but not so much lately. I ride an 04 b20d and have had no problems except that aluminum 4 bolt threads suck.(long story short i'm now building a new wheel to go rear disc because i'm to lazy to tap the rest of my 4 bolt mounts to 6mm(have done 2 and it works fine)). Anyways the b26d and b26 are awesome frames. Ride solid and feel/look sweet. Just with any bicycle company brisa has changed over the years and have changed there bikes accordingly to their riders comments and suggestions. This will continue to be the case for every bicycle company for years to come because people only get harder on their bikes and find new ways to wreck them more quickly. If no one changed, we would all be running u-brakes on our bikes.
Anyways, brisa's are expensive when compared to planet x bikes but when u compare them to koxx bikes........ :wiggle:
