Hey I know this has been briefly discussed in the past, but I was wondering if I tried to get us maybe 1 or 2 comps this summer in conjunction with the moto trials series if any of you guys would show up and ride? I have the number of the club president for RMTA and a few other guys that would probably be interesed in seeing this happen, I just dont want to call promising anything before I know if anyone would show.
I was thinking 2 comps wouldn't be too big of a commitment for me to handle. But they may want us to join their club and pay membership fees, that wouldn't be too bad considering they have some cool members only places to ride but I think its like 45 dollars for a years membership, and we wouldn't be getting much back from them.
I know a few riders out there still want some comps.

I will be in Colorado this summer and would definitely drive anywhere in the state for a comp.
By the way, thanks for the tips on wheelswitches, finally getting them down now.

Hannigan, where are you man. We ride all the time, you should come out with us. The FTC crew is always looking for new members.
id definately be down, even if i wasnt competing, which i probably wont

What are the best months to compete in for college students?

summer is always ideal, but weekends during the school year work too...depending on location of the comp... also spring break is in late march, so that works too

I know alot of riders leave for home during the summer. I was just thinking about the months with finals where people have too much homework as an excuse.

i dont know about other schools but im out by the first week of may.
edit- things that would take priority over an event with the moto-crew people: angelfire world cup, snowmass national, steamboat springs trials. thats pretty much it.

Well I just had a long conversation with the head of the RMTA and he was very excited to have some comps. I will be going to their first series comp in canyon city on feb 27th to have a meeting with him and it would be cool if any of you guys wanna come with and watch the moto trials guys and ride our bicycles around the area. I'm feeling very confident that there will be atleast 2 comps in our future.

Is it an AMA sanctioned event??? If so they don't insure bicycles.

I'd go if I could get a ride with you from Co springs Mike. Sounds awesome. I'd love to have some comps at a mototrials comp.

Maybe I could arrange something. After talking with the guy I dont think providing insurance is an issue that i'll have to worry about.
