Ive used 18:12 and 18:13, currently I'm using 18:12 and like it alot.

But I just broke my freewheel on my cranks and my cranks are metric threaded.
And you can no longer buy 18 tooth metric freewheels, you can only get 16 tooth.

Has anyone used 16:12? I just got a Eno fw though, but its not the trials one and could probably sell it, if I decided to get the 16 tooth fw. Also would putting a different cog in the rear make it feel like 18:12? My local bike shop already broke a chainwhip trying to get mine off so I'm not sure if it is an option.

The 16 tooth fws are made by acs (almost positve), but are they durable? I've already have broken two cheap fw (Dicta and a Shimano) in the past 8 months.

My cranks right now are Monty x-lite 1996, I can get new Monty cranks for $70.

Thanks a bunch.

If I were you I would just buy new cranks. Call Tim at Trialsin USA. He should have some Echo or Monty cranks in stock. The Echo cranks may be even less then $70, but I don't know. They may be listed in his site, but he often has other items in stock that are not listed on the site.

Thanks.

If I get the Monty cranks I'll get them from some unicycle store for $70, I don't know if Tim carries Monty parts. I don't want to get the Echos I've seen them strip before.

I find my 16T freewheel sucks shit for engagement... try using some of that penerating catalyist or liquid wrench on the rear cog!
