-thanks

Im running a hayes rotor (205 or what ever it is) and an avid cable caliper, because you can adjust the pad clearance it works fine, just be sure to have the right sized adaptor/rotor.

You can take whatever rotor you want as long as it's the correct size and mounting pattern.

thanks for the info but what does mounting pattern mean?

The way the rotor is connected to the hub shell.
Most rotors and hubs are designed according to the International Standard, which means they are hold together by six screws.
Shimano uses the Centerlock system, a tooth system with a lockring.
Hope used another system with four bolts, I think.

Also, some companies have slightly differant tolerances. For instance, my friend is running a Marta SL with a 160mm rotor. When he switched from the stock Magura rotor (160mm) to an Avid Clean Sweep (160mm), the disk was centered fine, and didnt rub on the pads, but it was a slightly larger diamator (spelling?), and it rubs on the top of the inside of the caliper body. This could just be a freak, random thing, but just letting you know that it can happen.

You should be able to adjust your caliper slightly up and down or back and forth a little to accomidate any rubbing that might take place. If not just grind down the outside of the disc to make it a little smaller(were all cyclists, we can all afford expensive parts frequentley right??):)
