I used hookworms on natural for a ride or two. Not an experience I wish to repeat. So yea, I would say they are pretty much for urban and park.

These tires rock at dirt jumping and street riding. These tires would suck at trials, any sort of trials, even "streety trials". The basic elements of a trials tire just don't exist in this tire. I run them on my street rig, but there arre no logs to stop you from sliding backwards durings ups, the sidewalls are a joke, it's like thier made of paper or something. What are you trying to accomplish with these tires? Are you trying to have less rolling resistance? Lighter weight? I'm not bashing, just giving my opinion. The tires rule for thier intended purpose, but I'm not thinking they'll fair too well in trials situations

If you check out some Monty Tires out there, they also sport the inverted tread for their trials tires. Some motorcycle trials tires are like that as well.

that tire looks pretty decent for commuting, akin to the old Continental Town & Countrys that came on Cannondales back in 96. Or their Goliath tires... smooth on top with small knobs on side. I ran one of those in my early days of trials 'cuz all I did was street/urban. If you're streety look for hard compound so it'll last a while and small blcoks/lugs for less rolling resistance. Or say screw it and dig up some Panaracer Spikes. Knob city... may need trimming. Ride like a man! just kidding...

hookworms for street= two thumbs up from me. a bit on the heavy side, but after a year with no flats and plenty of stupid things gone wrong and me being as big as I am, I say yes, I like hookworms for street and the small amount of park I ride.

Im amazed, they are never on anybody's list of recommended tires, I've never owned them but, they seem perfect for the street rider.

I suppose their downfall in trials is the moment you want to attack any sort of rock or log?
