So I'm learning to pivot onto/off of things, and I'm having trouble getting my back wheel on top of an object when my front wheel is already on it. Do you actually want to get the front wheel off the ground in addition to getting the back wheel up to the ledge? Or is it more of a throwing of the weight over the front wheel to bring the back up? Or is it maybe moving the whole bike forward a bit and have the rear tire roll over the edge? I've watched those guys like TRA in videos getting up stuff like this when their bikes are at like a 75 degree angle! Krazy good. Thanks

If you've already got your front on the object, just lock your front, lean way forward and pull up and over with your legs. It helps if you do it as quickly as possible after putting your front wheel up, cuz you get more preload or whatever from leaning back to do that. :P Hope that made sense.

Just get as far over the front wheel as you can and push the bars forward while bringing in your legs and then pivoting them over to the side that the rear wheel needs to go.

right on, thanks! does it help to have the rear wheel a good little distance from the object, or do you want your wheel and the beastly obstacle to be practically spooning? i could probably figure this out myself if i got my ass outta this damn comfy chair.

I would prefer to go from a further distance, (my master link has a peice of brick stuck in it from brick wall atempts)....You could alternatively try static hops...with your front whel on an object compress all your weight into the front of ther bike (keeping both brakes left on)...then I lean back and quickly shift my weight forward and jump (bring the bike up with u...it takes alot of practice)

i can pivot onto stuff pretty easy if its not more than a few feet tall but once it gets to tall i can't transfer my wieght well enough because im so far foward. do u get your pedal on the ledge and then pivot up off you pedal? or is it the bashgaurd and the pedal or do i have to use a different method because the object is getting to big? i never have really tryed but it seems wierd doing it off my pedal

Dont do it off your pedal. Just lean right over the front of your bars and concentrate on pulling up instead of onto the object. Check this out too:
